At A Glance

Hong Kong Academy is an independent, nonprofit, coeducational day school for Pre-Kindgergarten through Grade 8 featuring an inquiry-based, concept-driven curriculum that provides a well-rounded, learner directed program. The school was founded in 2000 to serve the educational needs of Hong Kong’s expatriate and local communities by providing a broad, international style curriculum that incorporated the best teaching practices from around the globe. It was conceived with the guiding principle that all students have the right to a high quality education that supports and extends both their learning style and their natural strengths. The School is housed in a former secondary school building centrally located on Hong Kong Island and easily accessed by public transport.

Hong Kong Academy currently consists of the primary program (Pre-Kindergarten through grade 5), as well as the Middle / High School program (grade 6 through grade 11). The 2010/11 school year marks the beginning of our Grade 11 - senior high school program, with options of completing a full IB diploma, or a HKA Diploma to complete Grade 12 the following year.
