Employment Benefits for Locally Hired Teachers Housing allowance for 2009/10 is HK$10,000 per month per single teaching contract Matching 5% retirement contribution of base salary 10 days sick leave per annum International Medical and Hospitalization insurance (including basic dental) if not covered by spouse or other scheme Worker's compensation insurance as per Hong Kong law Tuition free HKA enrollment for 1 dependent child per teaching contract Annual Professional Development Allowance of HK$10,000 which can be accumulated for up to three years Free Mandarin language lessons Bereavement Leave (a death in the immediate family) of 5 days Personal Leave up to 2 days per annum upon approval of Head of School Part-time teachers are paid pro-rata of benefits based on the percentage of a full-time employment Please note teachers are responsible for their own taxes.
